Hi, this is Michael Lee. Today’s podcast will be posted a little later today, but I wanted to take just a minute to share an idea with you.
A few weeks ago, I was asked by a listener if there was a way to make the podcast available in other languages. Specifically, he wanted to find a way to make a podcast of the bible available to believers in countries where printed copies are difficult to find, or where being a follower of Christ is cause for persecution. He suggested we begin with Chinese.
I think this is such a great idea, and I would love to see it happen, but it’s not something I can do on my own. I’m going to need some help, so I’m interrupting the podcast readings to ask for it.
I’m not asking for money. The costs for this will be pretty low, and my wife and I will gladly cover the expenses of hosting the podcast files, and running the site. I can also provide technical support for the podcast.
What I can’t do is read and write Chinese. So, I’m looking for two people.
First, we need someone who can read in Chinese, with access to recording equipment, who is willing to be the primary reader for the podcasts in that Language. Ideally, this person would be able to connect with other Chinese language speakers, so that the reading could be shared among different people.
Secondly, we need someone who can run the Chinese portion of the website. They would need to be fluent in English as well as Chinese, and be familiar with how to format text to display properly in Chinese browsers. Ideally, this person would have a working knowledge of some basic html code, and be familiar with Word Press software, although I can help train somebody on those basic skills. This person’s primary responsibility would be to manage the text portions of the podcast.
So, here’s what I’m asking of you. First, please pray for God to open up these doors. I think this could be a great expansion of the ministry of the Bible Podcast. Second, if you think that you might be either one of the two people that we’re looking for, please email me and let me know. Finally, if you know of somebody who does not listen to the podcast, but who might be one of the two people we’re looking for, please point them in our direction. You can reach me through the contact form at the website, which is www.thebiblepodcast.org, or you can reach me through email. The address is email@example.com
Thank you all so much for supporting this podcast by listening, and by sharing it with others. I hope that you will continue to support us as we reach out in new ways.
God be with you all.
